This beautiful pietra dura pendant features a peace dove holding an olive branch and a turquoise forget me not flower in its mouth. This piece is set in a silver twisted rope style mount with a open locket back for a photo.
 
Pietra Dura was a technique developed in Italy similar to moasic where hardstones are inlaid into dark backrounds often onyx, it was very popular in the Victorian era.
 
Shows some wear commesurate with its age. A beautiful piece which demonstrates skillful artistry of the 1870s.
