Before pocket watches had spring loaded turn-winds, they were wound by key. Here we have an original gold cased Victorian watch key which features a citrine coloured paste stone (glass) on one side and a blood stone seal on the other, both heart shaped. The warm coloured gold casing is  intricatley carved with beautiful detail.
As is typical of antique jewellery, this piece was made to be both beautiful and practical - a wonderful, original piece of history, which can be worn today on a chain or bracelet as a pendant or charm.
