This Victorian collar is an absolute dream to wear! Slinky and tactile, it is a quality piece which has been very nicely finished. It is made from 9ct antique rose gold, which has a lovely soft hue and can be paired seemlessly with other coloured metals. Every second link is hand engraved with either a forget me not flower or an ivy leaf (randomly ordered), alternating highly polished plain links. The contrast is subtle but very effective. The joining link has been decorated with small gold beads top and bottom in classic Victorian style.
There is one tiny bead missing, but this is not noticable unless you are looking for it and in no way detracts from the beauty of this very classy piece.
Victorian collar chains were traditionally worn with a locket or pendant attached to the bolt ring clasp (often oversized) as shown in the photo. It can also be worn on its own without a pendant or layered with other necklaces as it slinks comfortably over the collar bones.
This delicious antique treasure not only looks and feels fantastic, it is also something you can get lots of wear out of - dress it up or down.
